Focusing on a different theme each year, the IWTO Wool Round Table offers IWTO members the opportunity to take the time to dig deeper on important issues. This year’s edition will take place in Biella, Italy.  The 2016 Wool Round Table will take place on 28-29 November with working group meetings on 27 November.

Discussions will connect the current champions of textile education, highlighting career opportunities and identifying potential skills gaps. Participants include agriculture, science, engineering, design, manufacturing and retail.

Wool growers and retailers will explore opportunities for growth with wool textiles. Sessions address current challenges to both wool grower and retailer, focusing on how sustainability and best practice can translate into increased market share, as well as the latest developments in wool LCA and wool wellness science.

Biella is a quintessential Italian village, 80 km NW of Milan. The oldest woollen textile district in Europe, it is the origin of the Strada della Lana – the ‘wool route’ of Italy. Read more about wool’s history in Italy at

A block of rooms will be reserved at the Agora Palace Hotel — all information will be provided at registration.

The 2016 Wool Round Table is made possible through the support of Sistema Moda Italia, Unione Industriale Biellese and the Italian Wool Trade Association.
