The final sale of the 2018 summer season was held in Port Elizabeth on 27 June, with a large offering of 123 358 kg. The buyers competed to secure mohair for the off season period due to fear of lower production volumes as a result of the ongoing drought. The highest price of R630.00 p/kg was paid for a bale of good style 23 micron kid mohair.

The market indicator closed 18% higher than the first sale of the summer season with the average market indicator coming in at R268.06 p/kg.

A Zegna Special Auction was held on Monday afternoon, the 25th of June, where 1 483.70 kg were offered. 100% of the hair was sold at an average price of R814.41 p/kg.
