Following the departure of Cesar Lutgens who is now with Arequipa’s Chamber of Commerce, Daniel Aréstegui has been appointed to replace him as Manager of the Instituto Peruano de la Alpaca y Camelidos (IPAC) as well a role as Coordinator of the International Alpaca Association (IAA).

Daniel has considerable experience in the alpaca sector where he has previously held posts in Peru’s Ministry of Agriculture and Prosur S.A.

One of his first tasks will be to work with Promperu (the Peruvian government’s export promotions body) to assist with the market positioning of its “Alpaca Del Peru” mark with an agreed strategy to complement the already established IAA marks.

He recently told the IAA Alpaca Monthly News Bulletin,“I intend to build-up the base of IAA members so that the organization can become a more active force in the alpaca textile sector. I’d also like to focus on making sure that both the “Alpaca Fiesta” and “Alpaca Moda” can be clearly established at the zenith of alpaca activities worldwide.”
