South Island was the only selling point this week with 13,000 bales on offer. The selection was mainly crossbred wool 34.0 to 38.0 micron. There was a reasonable selection of fine fleece 25.0 to 30.0 micron and a limited selection of merino fleece 16.0 to 22.0 micron. 10% Passed In.

 

21.5 micron and finer was 5% cheaper. 22.0 to 27.5 micron was 4% cheaper. Buyers favoured 28.0 to 31.0 micron.

 

32.0 to 38.0 micron was firm.  Buyers favoured 3/4″ and shorter.

 

All descriptions were firm.

 

All oddments were firm. Merino cardings were 2.5% dearer.

 

Main Buyers: Masurel 2000 bales, Fuhrmann 1250, Bloch & Behrens 1250, , G Modiano 800, NZWSI 650, JS Brooksbank 650, Chargeurs 500, J Marshall 450, WG Robinson 425, Schneider  400, Standard Wool 260, and Curtis 250 bales.

 

Next auction – North Island only selling on 5 October with 8,500 bales on offer.
