Italian spinning company, Safil, commenting that – the market’s ever-greater awareness of the interdependence between economic, environmental and social matters in business, combined with the need for greater transparency by companies with regard to their business model, led the company to draft its 2014 Sustainability Report, the first Italian spinning company to do so. The 2014 Sustainability Report, available in English and Italian, is online on homepage for free consultation and download.

It is a document designed to describe the company, its history, its values and its identity, and to explain how the company choices try to balance economic aspects (always a priority) with those of an environmental and social nature.

‘These aspects, which are only marginally highlighted in the balance sheet, are nonetheless essential to explain to all our internal and external stakeholders, the principles on which Safil founded its past and intends building its future.’ a company spokesman said.

The 2014 Sustainability Report has been drafted in accordance with the “G4 Sustainability Reporting” (2013) guidelines, published by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and using the GBS (Company Balance Sheet Group) Guidelines for the calculation of the production and distribution of added value.
