Spin Group to debut sustainable floor covering at DOMOTEX
The Spin Group, a leading global manufacturer of synthetic and natural floor covering yarns, will debut the full spectrum of its offering on stand A59, Hall 11 at DOMOTEX 2018.
The Spin Group will be at DOMOTEX to explore the theme of ‘nature hanging by a thread’ – discussing why sustainable production should be a top priority across the floor covering yarn industry and demonstrating how sustainability is at the heart of all Spin Group’s current and future operations.
In September 2017, the Group cemented its commitment to a greener future with the purchase of its first Biogas plant creating a new company, Spin Group Green Energy. The plant is located next to the Triple S spinning facility in Peer, Belgium which has been running its entire operations off of green energy from the Biogas plant since 2013.
The Spin Group works with flooring manufacturers to develop high quality, innovative and creative floor covering yarns produced in the most sustainable way. Bringing together the best in man-made and natural fibres, the Spin Group is formed of two core brands; Triple S Yarns, manufacturer of synthetic yarns and the first to develop ‘silk touch’ Soft PP yarns and Lawton Yarns, a state of the art woollen yarn spinner with an established heritage, spinning the highest quality yarns for wool and wool-rich blends. The Spin Group works with flooring manufacturers to develop high quality, innovative and creative floor covering yarns produced in the most sustainable way.
This diverse offering means the Spin Group can create bespoke yarns that meet the needs of flooring manufacturers who are not only looking for yarns that will enable them to create unique carpets and rugs but also meet the increasing demand for flooring that has been produced sustainably.
Michiel Smits, CEO of the Spin Group commented, “As a global manufacturing business we have a responsibility to do everything we can to limit the impact our activity has on the environment. Our customers are becoming increasingly eco-conscious and the Spin Group of companies is committed to lowering our carbon footprint and leading the way in taking a more sustainable approach.
“Over the last twenty years, the yarn manufacturing industry has undergone a significant shift. Challenging trading conditions have meant that businesses who have failed to innovate and respond to the needs of the market are no longer in operation. Backed by a strong heritage in this traditional sector, we are firmly focused on the future and continuing to strengthen our offering by continually investing in modern technology and new processes to create high quality, sustainable yarns.”
