The collection for the next hot season presented at Pitti Immagine Filati in 2016 by the Piedmontese company focuses on merino wool in its thinner variant, with a new article that combines wool with cotton in a structured palette of colours– while attentive to the dictates of the international catwalks, does not forget the classics. A confirmed line of yarns designed for “jersey” are capable of giving new life to fluid garments and accessories for the energy of summer.

Merino wool extra-fine: this is the protagonist of the Spring/Summer 2017 collection by Tollegno 1900, among the first Italian mill in the spinning sector. The emblematic yarn of the Piedmont company is offered for the warm weather in its most pure form (100% extra-fine merino wool), and in conjunction with other exclusive products (silk, viscose and cashmere).

The resulting blends are refined – “Sultano” (70% extra-fine merino wool and 30% silk), “Feeling” (70% extrafine merino wool, 20% silk and 10% cashmere) and “Vicky” (80% merino extra-fine and 20% viscose) – and able to give life to simple clothing, with a soft-hand that is pleasant to the touch and light. Lightness that is the leitmotif of the entire proposal of Tollegno 1900 for the Spring/Summer of next year: it confirms not only timeless classics like “New Royal” 2/60, “Charme” 2/80 and “Maharaja” 2/60 , but also the line specially designed for “jersey”. “Jasmine” (70% cashmere and 30% silk), “Feeling” (70% extra-fine merino, 20% silk and 10% cashmere), “New Royal” (100% extrafine merino), “Vicky” (80% viscose and 20% extra fine merino) and “Harmony” (100% extra-fine merino), in single counts from 1/30 to 1/60, in fact give rise to a “capsule collection” that lends itself to the creation of knit fabrics which are light enough to be the base for any summer outfit.

The outsider: Woolcot

If the extra-fine merino wool is the certainty and continuity of Tollegno 1900 yarn, its mix with cotton is the novelty of the next collection. This outsider yarn is called Woolcot (53% extra fine Merino wool and 47% cotton) and has all the credentials to win the approval of those looking for a multi-seasonal quality able to adapt to rapid climate changes and ensuring the utmost comfort. Available in 2/30 and 2/48 counts, Woolcot, combining the characteristics of softness and elasticity of merino wool with the freshness of cotton, meets the demands of the summer season, with yarn in featherweight ranges in rich colors.

The season of color: warm colors, pastels and classic evergreen

Our color palette becomes increasingly structured, where classical nuances are complemented by chromatic proposals that are freshly and distinctly summery enhances the visual impact and the intrinsic qualities of each yarn: the rainbow of colors offered by Tollegno 1900 for Spring/Summer 2017 are inspired by the warm colors of the Mediterranean countries. Examples are the turquoises that coexists harmoniously with the marine-inspired greens, and the family of grey that together are transformed, in a natural evolution of color, until you conclude with deep shades of blue.

The dustier shades are enhanced by the sheen of silk blends while pastels increase the depth of color and softness of fine yarns like cashmere in their summer version. Space is then reserved for lovers of the classic shades, with basic colors and timeless appeal, all available in stock service.
