The ENco Global, an independent testing laboratory, has been saved from closure by Cottingley-based Curtis Wools and re-sited at its Cashmere Works in Birksland Street, Bradford.

It provides a range of testing services for national and international clients, including the Greek army for which it is testing socks, berets and sweaters.

ENco Global is an independent consultancy that exists to identify and solve environmental problems in the textile industry in the UK and across the world.

ENco works particularly closely with the wool and allied fibres textile industry including: Raw Wool Scouring, Yarn Spinning, Yarn and Loose-fibre Dyeing, Carpet Manufacturers, Fabric Finishers, Textiles and Carpets Retailers.

Its analytical laboratory has a full suite of techniques and equipment for chemical analysis and testing suitable for the textile and related industries; Analytical method development for new textile products and chemicals; Mothproofing QC and development testing service; Effluent and waste monitoring service; Textile fault analysis; Provision and maintenance of a comprehensive wool pesticide database; Pilot scale studies for application of novel techniques or chemicals.
