Wool Carpet at the “Renewable Energy House” in Brussels
Through the intervention and sponsorship of IWTO with support of LANO Carpet (Belgium), the famous “Renewable Energy House”, headquarter of the European renewable energy agency “EREC”, is now featuring a 100% woollen carpet on their floor. IWTO becomes official stakeholder organisation of the “Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)”
Being recognized as “official stakeholder organisation” by GOTS, IWTO is now invited to participate in the ‘stakeholder input system’ regarding the revision of the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) 2.0 and the corresponding Manual.
Texworld USA – Wool Presentation
The wool industry has made a presentation at the well-known “Round Table” during TEXWORLD exhibition in New York on July 13th at Javits Convention Center. Edwin Nazario, Manager USA for AWI, has highlighted on behalf of IWTO the benefits of wool to the audience at the convention.
HRH Wool Campaign
President Günther Beier and Henrik Kuffner have participated on behalf of IWTO in various project meetings of the launched HRH Prince of Wales – Wool Campaign in UK. Purpose of the involvement is to coordinate the IWTO and the HRH Wool Campaign activities and filter any possible synergies.
Hangzhou Site Inspection
Henrik Kuffner made a site inspection to Hangzhou (China), venue of the IWTO Congress 2011. The HYATT Congress Hotel has been fixed as conference site, and a budget hotel close to the conference site has been blocked for the delegates. IWTO Statutes ratified
A change within the IWTO Statutes has been ratified by the members of IWTO. The changes are strengthening the rights of Associate Members within IWTO, giving tribute to the increased importance of this type of membership.
UNIDO Report on Mongolian textile and animal hair industry available
A report on the future strategy of the Mongolian textile and animal hair industry was released recently by the United Nations Industry Development Organisation (UNIDO).
