Suh Han Wool Textile Company, a leading Korean Worsted spinner producing both knitting and weaving yarns has recently invested in the latest Basolan 88 technology for the treatment of worsted wool top.
ANDAR the New Zealand based company which is a subsidiary of The Woolmark Company, designed and built the continuous Basolan plant which was installed and commissioned at the Suh Han factory located in Chonghu, south of the Korean capital Seoul. The plant installation was carried out by ANDAR and was commissioned by the Woolmark Consulting Group, a division of The Woolmark Company.
Investment in the ANDAR equipment and Basolan 88 technology enables Suh Han to produce softer handle yarns, which are brighter and lustrous in shade. The Basolan 88 process can also be used as:
- a pretreatment for producing 'true blacks' which are important in the Asian market for formal wear,
- Machine Washable and Total Easy Care yarns,
- a range of technical finishes including the recently launched Sensory Perception Technology™ (SPT™).
Suh Han is the first company in Korea to invest in such technology, and it will enable them to produce and introduce a number of new yarns in the future. |
